Journey into the Altavista river, about an hour from San Pancho, and explore a natural landscape where jungle, flowing water, and ancient rock art come together. Along the trail, you’ll encounter petroglyphs carved into the rocks generations ago, each offering a window into the stories, symbols, and relationship with the natural world of the Wixárika people.

Led by Santos, a native Wixárika guide, this is as much a cultural experience as it is a nature expedition. Santos offers a personal interpretation of the petroglyphs, their stories, and the deeper Wixárika cosmovision, sharing how the river, rocks, animals, and surrounding landscape are understood within his ancestral tradition. The journey continues to a sacred natural pool used for offerings, creating an intimate experience where nature becomes the setting for understanding a living culture, its history, and its spiritual connection to the land.
